Study of the self-organization of spin-polarized atomic clusters on a solid rare gas surface

چکیده
Exchange interaction is responsible for both covalent bonding and ferromagnetism in both localized and itinerant electron systems. Nevertheless, crystalline structures are not apparently affected by a change of electron magnetic state in most systems. In these systems, the exchange coupling constant J can be treated as constant to the first order during a magnetic transition. Coupling between the electron magnetic states and the atomic structure of matter has been studied over the last century. It was first taken up for explaining the magnetostriction of ferromagnetic metals in classical magnetics. A structural phase transition associated with magnetic ordering is mainly observed in systems with a degenerate ground state. The phenomenon has been explained in terms of the JahnTeller effects based on the symmetry considerations. If the orbital degeneracy is removed by coupling with a magnon, a structure of lower symmetry is stabilized in most cases.

Interaction of atomic hydrogen with monometallic Au(100), Cu(100), Pt(100) surfaces and surface of bimetallic Au@Cu(100), Au@Pt(100) overlayer systems: The role of magnetism
The spin-polarized calculations in generalized gradient approximation density–functional theory (GGA–DFT) have been used to show how the existence of second metals can modify the atomic hydrogen adsorption on Au (100), Cu (100), and Pt (100) surfaces. The computed adsorption energies for the atomic hydrogen adsorbed at the surface coverage of 0.125 ML (monolayer) for the monometallic Au (100), ...
متن کاملThe Thermodynamic Properties of Polarized Metallic Nanowire in the Presence of Magnetic Field
In this article, the second quantization method has been used to investigate some thermodynamic properties of spin-polarized metallic nanowire in the presence of magnetic field at zero temperature. We have been observed that in different magnetic field, the equilibrium energy of system increases as the density increases. The spin-polarization parameter corresponding to the equilibrium state of ...
متن کاملSpin-polarized transport through a zigzag-edge graphene flake embedded between two armchair nanoribbons electrodes
We study the coherent spin-polarized transport through a zigzag-edge graphene flake (ZGF), using Hubbard model in the nearest neighbor approximation within the framework of the Green function’s technique and Landauer formalism. The system considered consists of electrode/ (ZGF)/electrode, in which the electrodes are chosen to be armchair nanoribbons. The study was performed for two types of ele...

متن کاملاثر نسبت حجمی مذاب- جامد و سرعت دوران بر فصل مشترک جفت فلزی منیزیم- آلومینیم در ریختهگری گریز از مرکز
In this study, centrifugal casting process was used for producing Al/Mg bimetal. Molten Mg was poured at 700 oC, with 1.5 and 3 melt-to-solid volume ratio (Vm/Vs) into the 450 oC preheated solid Al rotating at 800, 1200, 1600 and 2000 rpm. Castings were kept inside the centrifuged casting machine and cooled down to 150 oC. Investigating the effect of melt-to-solid volume ratio showed that incre...
